Adding Flysheets to the Public Media Library

This workflow outlines the steps required to add a new flysheet (or other PDF asset) to the Brand Portal Public Media Library.

Before You Begin

 
Name your flysheet according to proper naming standards. Follow the link below for rules governing correct file naming:

Workflow

1. Log in to the Brand Portal WordPress Admin.
2. Navigate to the WP Portfolio section at Admin Menu > WP Portfolio and click the Add New button at the top left.
3. On the next screen:
   • In the Title field, add a title that follows this format: {Product Name} Flysheet
     • Keep names under 48 characters if possible.
     • Favor full names, and include acronym in parenthesis if applicable.
     • Example: Roll Out Solar Array (ROSA) Flysheet
   • In the Type selector, choose Image or PDF in the dropdown.
   • The form should look like this:
     
     
   • Click the “Add Portfolio Item” button.
4. On the next screen (Portfolio Item Edit Screen):
   • Next to Thumbnail Image, click the “Click here to add…” link to open the media management modal window.
     • Drag the properly-named flysheet pdf file from your computer to the media manager window and drop it when the window turns blue.
     • When the file is done uploading and WordPress automatically selects it, click the “Select” button in the lower right corner of the media manager window. A jpeg file will be automatically generated and set as the thumbnail.
   • Next to Portfolio Image or PDF, click the “Click here to add…” link to open the media management modal window.
     • Select the same file in the media manager you just uploaded as the thumbnail in the previous step (it should be the first file in the grid), then click the “Select” button in the lower right corner of the media manager window. The file will now be set as the portfolio item.
   • When you are finished, the edit screen should resemble this:
     
     
5. In the right sidebar of the edit screen, locate the Other Categories box and check the “Fly Sheets” option.
6. In the right sidebar of the edit screen, locate the Categories box and select any categories that fit the flysheet (e.g. Products).
7. In the right sidebar of the edit screen, locate the Publish box and click the “Publish” button to add your flysheet.
